Recreation and Leisure.

Leisure skills are an important part of our students’ daily activities. Many students have specific leisure goals that are designed to help them develop skills that are age- and ability-appropriate in order to increase their independent and cooperative leisure skills.

Leisure skills can opens doors that allow for independence, flexibility, and socialization to grow. For some students this might include increasing the amount of time they are able to independently engage in an activity. For others, it may mean developing fundamental social skills like understanding the rules to a game or taking turns while playing with peers.

Our students also have opportunities to experience various recreational activities such as taking walks to local sites and parks, attending barbeques, doing arts and crafts, going bowling, and much more.
